Deer trailing terminology question

When dogs are brought in to find a wounded deer, it is sometimes called “going on a DC.”

What does DC stand for?

Direct Call - for when a hunter reaches out to someone with a dog directly as opposed to putting out a broad request for anyone available to respond to.
