Deer license question

A youngster in my office told me he was going to Richard Yancey with his 40# academy long bow and Honda Civic to deer hunt. He asked me what he needed to do to get his license and I told him that he needed his hunters safety first and foremost or they won't sell you a license. He went to the LDWF website and purchased a license anyway. My question is does he need his hunters safety if he is under the supervision of a licensed Hunter? Thanks!

There must be a hunter safety card holder within a 100yards of him at all times if you don't want to piss off ole green jeans
