So I put up a new deerstand on our property where deer are known to frequent two weeks before the season. I have been building the stand since June but the hurricane messed it up and put me behind schedule. We got it up and put feeders two weeks before the season.

My dad owns 65 acres of land, mostly a strip 96 feet wide. We had permission from the adjacent landowners on both sides of our property to hunt their property. Four on one side and seven on the other.
Last summer the propert right next to us went for sale, 18 acres with a bayou side lot and small shotgun house for 150,000. My dad helped his buddy acquire the property. His buddy said he would let us hunt the property and would just hunt one of our stands if he wanted to hunt. He hardly ever hunts.

He buys the property. Enter his son. The son says he won't put up a stand near ours. One week AFTER the season starts a stand goes up 60 yards past mine cutting my throat. No problem, it's their property. He kills a 90 pound doe and a 45 pound button buck in the ensuing weeks.

The other day three does come out on the property past him from my stand. I have permission to shoot on this property, he doesn't. Respecting him being in his stand I don't shoot. I haven't killed a deer in a few years and would have taken a big doe. He was waiting for a buck so I didn't shoot.

We ge to our stands early and are in there at least 50-60 minutes before shooting time. He gets in his stand 15-20 minutes before shooting time riding a four wheeler about 100 yards from my stand and parking. We took him duck hunting a few times.

The last straw came tonight. I called my dad who went hunt my stand. It's over a crawfish pond which has been overrun by otters. He wanted to shoot the otter. Two deer came out at 5:00, which he let walk cause hey were does. At 520 pm here comes the jackass son on his four wheeler. Parked almost even with my stand where my dad is and walks to his stand. Not there ten minutes and POW shoots another 50 pound deer. Goes get the four wheeler picks it up and leaves! He doesn't know how to clean a deer, my dad cleaned his last two. His dad doesn't either.

I am going in my stand this weekend and will shoot every living fricking thing I see if he is in that stand. He also put up two more stands where we have stands with feeders on his property. The feeders are coming down tomorrow. We don't think his dad Knows any of his is goin on but aren't sure.
What else can I do? It's their property and they have the right to do what they want. I'm thinking about going put a stand on the property on the other side of him which is owned by one of my best friends since elementary school.

TL:DR. GFY

OH I'M MAD

You are your dad could have bought it ......you didn't. Try to sell them your piece.

Buy your own. But sell that strip to them before you approach a father about his son and ruin that avenue.

As far a shooting a button buck.....you should at least make fun of his sorry arse to his face.

I would tell him he must have knocked the spots off when he hit it.......Does he need a suitcase to put it in.

Whatyou do is go over there with your dad and y'all resolve it like men.
Tell them your frustrations and why you feel that way and try to get everybody on same page...

I have a very similar situation. My dad and I have 80 acres that joins a large hunting club and a 160 acre private land track. We never have problems out of the guys on the club but the private land is another story. The man has a grandson that I swear has an iq of maybe 60 and he constantly rides by my stand on the border at peak times (4-5pm) and he and his friends have a dit dit bird shoot in the evening at least once a week. This year has been my worst year hunting on our place so far in the 6 years we've had it and I blame it totally on this moron.

Long story short I feel your pain bro.

Joy of neighbors haha. I have mentioned a few weeks ago on here, i hunt a small piece and during bow season i let a small 8 point walk mayb 10-12" spread.. Well few weeks later neighbor shoots it. Then shoots a 4 point. Last yr shot a button buck and a 5 point. Only good thing is he shoots first thing he sees and im patient and get bigger ones haha just not alot to choose from!

Sounds like it's time to either learn that boy some manners or he has a hunting accident.
