That's my last choice this time of year. But if it comes down to it that's what I will do.

If you are using it to blood trail train a dog, just ask some friends for a piece of venison or find some road kill. Preferably the former.

This. Used blood from thawed out roasts to change many a dog. Dilute it with salt water and put in a spray bottle. A little bit can go a long way.

I'll swap a brother some deer meat for high quality IPAs this time of year.

Not sure where you are located, and not sure if it will help but I have a small trash bag full of frozen hide, and trimmings from this last season. I just tossed in the deep freeze meaning to bring it to the camp for the gut pile and just forgot. I'm certain that if it thaws there will be plenty of blood.

I will be shooting some out of my fields in a couple of weeks. You're welcome to come hang one up and drain it for all I care.

I have plenty of deer meat. I never thought about the blood when it thaws out. He's trained, I just got him back from a trainer. Just want to keep him active till the season.

Assuming you're training a dog? Pretty sure any blood will work. My brothers training his blue lacy and she doesn't care whether it's deer blood or chicken blood.

Thanks fellas for the input. Looks like any blood will do. He's trained to find any scent. I just want his best to be deer blood. I'll be sure to leg shoot plenty of deer this season to test him out!
