I like cypress mulch, have been using the red dyed stuff. Looks like red is the most popular color, because there is less of it available. What are the OB's thoughts?

Get red, it makes it pop. A lot of people think it's trashy, but I like it.

I'm in Walker, fwiw.

I like black the best but it seems to fade quick. I went with dark brown this year and I'm really liking it so far. Never really cared for red.

We did red 2 years ago and I only have to add a little each year to make it pop again. I'm on the fence this year though. I may go with the black

Looks great right after the sprinklers turn off but when it's dry it's got no pop

I think the dark brown looks the best and most natural, red looks weird on some houses, and it fades pretty quick

used to be in the landscape business and would always laugh that whenever I went to price a job at "non Caucasian" house they would always want the red mulch.

I personally hate it as it looks unnatural, but to each his own.

Better watch out for that red stuff...

I know of a particular subdivision in Thibodaux that uses red mulch to distinguish the swingers. Not sure if true but funny none the less.

I use the light brown Cypress Royale from Lowes. Fluff it twice a year and add a couple bags to bring out the color again.

My wife used to work with a few gals from there. They both live on the old side and say that the new side is for the swingers.

Same. Not a fan of red.

there is a gorgeous 600k house across the street from me, and everytime is see the immigrants coming with a bucket of red mulch i cringe. My dad uses it as well. to each his own i suppose.
