If launching a yak at the Grand Isle Kayak Launch, is there a way to get to the north side of the island without going around to the west. It looks like there is a waterway thru the island but was wondering if anyone had used it in a yak? TIA

There used to be a few small cuts that a yak could get through but I thought they shelled them all up. Just not sure.

Google Earth shows one that goes all the way thru just not sure if it's always navigable. Would like an alternative in case wind kicks up and I'm on north side.ight even save me a few strokes.

I was looking on my phone earlier and have since looked on my computer. You are correct, I don't think there is a route all the way thru.

No there is no way through. You would have to go around. They have out rocks where the openings used to be
