About to buy my first crossbow. Plan to buy one and use it forever to deer hunt. Anyone have a recommendation?

My friend has a Barnett Jackal and he really likes it. I shot it a few weeks ago in his backyard and it is heavy but very easy to use. Just watch how you grip it so you don't lose any fingers.

If I bought one, I'd look heavily into the Excalibur. It's a recurve style crossbow that has very little to go wrong or break.
