Crooked Creek Rec Area - Ville Platt

We usually camp at Chicot SP, but recently discovered Crooked Creek. It is run by Evangeline Parish. Some of the reviews say there's lots of locals w golf carts and loud music. Does anyone have experience camping here? Looking for better fishing than Chicot.

It has been at least 10 years since I've been there, but we used to camp there a bunch when I was younger.
I don't know how the people are, but the fishing is definitely better(numbers wise) than Chicot

personally, i prefer cc because it NEVER has a mosquito problem for some unkown reason. also, cc is flat and is much better when you are bringing kids. the fishing is better at cc.
chicot is quiet and relaxing and the lake is beautiful. you will see deer all over the park. however, you can't use a golf cart and the mosquitos will eat supper with you. the lake very seldom provides enough meat to cook.
