About 15 years ago some hunters found a corpse hanging near the west/east feliciana line. The guy was in bad debt on gambling and drugs and whoever he owed hung him just high enough that his toes touched. Of course eventually he couldn't stand on his tip toes any more. Guilty parties were never found I believe.

About 10 years ago I was working one night and saw two trucks that I'm familiar with head down to the river where the boat launch is. Later only one came back. Assumed the other wound up stuck. Daylight when I got off work I went to go run some lines in the river and saw a tail light sticking up. When the police arrived they called the owner, he acted shocked like it must have been stolen. Informed them I saw the driver, drive it down there.

Did you ever find out the story behind it? Did he do it for insurance money?

A guy hung himself just off of some local hikink trails near here.

I've found stolen cars along 4x4 trails / logging roads. Some just left, some burned w/ bullet holes

I guess about 15 years or longer ago we were training at Bonnet Carre' spillway. We were training, having a good time went to move to a new location in the spillway and when we got there, there were cop cars all over.

Another amateur trainer friend of ours had set up to train and found a dead body in one of the ponds. That was the talk of our local training group for a while!

Only once. My dad and I were going crabbing near Cameron, and happened upon a car in the middle of the dirt road we were going down. We sat in the truck for a while when we noticed what looked like bullet holes in the trunk lid and left fender. Slowwwwwlllyyyyyy we approached the car to have abetter look when we noticed a lady in the back seat. WHAT? We thought she was dead, until she moved a bit and looked up to see peering in the car. She was not injured, but said she had a fight with her husband and as she hauled arse he took several shots at her. Don't know where she ran from and she wouldn't accept help, just asked her to leave her be. We did call the sheriffs dept and report it. Haven't thought about that in years.

Yea the owner dumped it in the river to claim insurance but it wound up being found before he ever made a claim. His report of it being stolen and the fact that I saw him drive it down there, (and a few other things) led the cops to question him and he admitted it.
