Cold water = deep.
If you don't have a good graph, use a pole and set jigs at multiple depths on the same line.

Find the bait fish and you will have them, they should be in the deeper water now. If you can't find bait fish, start near the bottom and work your way up. I don't fish bama, but I like a variety of colors. For muddy water, I like bright colors, including white. For clear water I like darker colors. You can't go wrong with pink pearl, monkey milk, blue thunder, blue grass, cajun cricket and electric chicken.
