Look at the bottom of a female blue crab. The undershell is white, if you look towards the points and see an orangish tint to to the shell it has eggs.


It is only illegal to keep crabs that have the orange spungy looky substance that are on exposed on the underbelly..... some call that a pon-pon freshwater coonasses apparently call it a berry.

The people advertising probably meant the crabs are full of delicious orange roe.

As long as they aren't busting out into the external egg pack you are ok. Think the sign just means the crabs are full of eggs on the inside. Best eating part of the crab IMO. Cracker, dip, crab eggs is about as good as it gets.
