Coolant flushing on gas engines

Just got back from driving around in 120 degree desert, and I noticed the engine got to around 220=230 when I was idling with the A/C on. Went back down to normal when I turned the A/C off or started moving slightly. Yeah, I know that was very likely to happen and should've expected it, but it got me wanting to go over my cooling system since I haven't ever done it.
I have some leftover stuff from my F250, and was thinking about using it on my new gas truck, but wasn't sure if it would be okay since I can't find much info on it (except the BITOG tards). I have Cummins Restore and Restore Plus, and a bunch of CAT ELC I got for cheap from the Peterbilt store in town. All of them are for diesel engines, so I don't know if I should use them in my gas engine. Anybody know something about it?
I am gonna swap the t-stat, and look at the water pump while I'm in there, and I always flush the hell out of the coolant with the hose and then distilled water.

Not all ELC's are compatible but Shell's Rotella ELC (red color) is safe. I use it for my Ranger and F150. As far as I know almost all newer gas engine Fords use the same HOAT coolant.

Use what the owner's manual suggests

Not putting Dexcool in my engine
What about the restore and restore plus? I'm trying to get all of the contaminants out that I can, but don't want to damage anything LINK

Think the normal acidic flushes are ok. Think MB just uses plain citric acid.

I have seen pics, seen in person, heard stories, etc of it breaking down and becoming sludge numerous times. Plus, the red ELC is good for 300k

I wish I had pictures of what dexcool did to a 4.0L jeep radiator and block. Unfrickingbelievable how much sludge was in that engine block.

There was a huge class action lawsuit a while back because of it
