Online application took 10 minutes and they now use your drivers license photo. Finger prints took maybe 30 minutes. I had my CCL in less than a month.
Even you an admit it has been wildly inconsistent. It has seemed to speed up some lately but around this time last year it was a few months wait.
I got my renewal in the fall and it took close to 4 months for me to get the permit in my hand.
I'm happy the system is getting faster but you're simply showing that the system determines the speed of you getting to exercise a constitutional right, insufficiency and all.

The slower and more difficult it is, the better.

That's a stupid thing to say.

I was fortunate enough to do mine when the online application process just started. I got in before the wave of people doing it.

I keep my conceal carry license on display in Washington.

What is gained by making the process more difficult?
Posted on 5/11/17 at 10:40 am to Clames
Fewer people doing it, and those who choose to do so are probably going to be a bit more responsible.

That's a Vernon Parish baw. He may have the R by his name, but those poor folks down there are all democrats at heart.

Love to see the empirical data backing up your opinion.

Good luck, doesn't exist. Usually the case with notions that have poor foundation of logic supporting them.

Also a former Sheriff. LSA opposed the bill.
Pylant (R) another former Sheriff voted in support.
Bacala (R), former APSO Chief Deputy took a walk.
And Landry (D) former LSP Superintendent voted against.

Point being, if the vote went along party lines with no absences, even with Marino (I) voting against it would have passed 9-8.
The folks that should be held accountable are:

Morons like you use the same nonsense with concealed carry that rabid gun-control advocates use for gun ownership in general. Somehow you believe that if you make something hard enough or expensive enough then only the "truly responsible" will engage in owning or carrying guns. How stupid does one have to be to believe in such an opinion as yours when there is no data to back it up?
Posted on 5/11/17 at 11:26 am to Clames
Nah, it's really very simple. If it's easy to do, more people will do it. Your need for data simple shows the weakness of your mind. You truly cannot think. It's sad really.

And the names of the groups who lobbied against it...LA Sheriffs association was a main culprit last time...
unfortunately there are some LEO's who would have you believe they should be the only ones to freely exercise this constitutional right...and then there are those who teach CCW classes who don't want to get off the gravy train...I know a couple guys that make a nice living off this side hustle, and when I mentioned supporting constitutional carry, they scoffed at losing that revenue and said they'd call their representative to oppose it...disgusting to put themselves over others God given rights.
