Barham may have made some mistakes early on but he had it going our way lately and should have been an easy choice to stay on

His work on getting the states anglers more access to red snapper was a huge success. Crying shame that Edwards is going to mess with what is working. Also heard this morning that the legislature is going to look to take money from the restoration fund to use freely.

Melancon is good people. Know the family well. Has helped on several ocassions with our water shed issues on Toledo and with curbing the agreement Millard Morris and Aubrey Temple was trying to ink with SRA on municipal water pipeline into Texas a few year's back. Strong ethics

LDWF was already a joke compared to many other states Wildlife departments and now they put this clown in charge. Does Melancon have any outdoor experience at all?

really I think that the secretary is just a figure head, what is really going to be the issue is how much influence Ducks Unlimited, Delta Waterfowl, National Wildlife Foundation, CCA, etc. will be able to exert on the new secretary

have you been paying attention?
the snapper push has been huge, in the face of overwhelmingly financed odds. he stood up to the jackboots in DC, extended the state waters line (patent pending), instituted the snapper harvest survey, and the state season

additionally they are finally listening to duck hunters and getting season/zone/splits opinion from the guys in the blinds

you can't please everybody but he had it moving forward and deserved to be retained

He had a camp on Lake Verret for 20-30 years. Hunted all over south Louisiana. He was the voice of the seafood industry while in congress. Lived in south Louisiana his entire life. I think he has enough experience to get the job done.

Jindal took funds from restoration to use freely! He also took 10 million from the LDWF general fund every year he was in office! Not to mention screwing every employee that works for the department with no raises even though they had the money to give them. Only 2 cadet classes while in office. Larry Reynolds is the one who listened to duck hunters and he is still there.

Hell of a guy, known the family for 20+ years. I think he will serve the outdoorsman well.
