I don't have any experience with that particular model but it looks like it's a better value than the MS170 and should be a good bit more capable. If my 170 ever quits I'll probably go with that one for my small saw. I'm not sure that was available when I bought mine and if it was I couldn't afford it.

Yeah, it was near double the price of the 170 on sale right now, the guy selling it to me made a good sales pitch plus I had gotten my bonus at work the same day...a good combination for an impulse buy
