I try to stay off of mine unless somebody shoots or there’s a football game on.

If my job didn’t require it I wouldn’t own a smartphone.

My buddies and I texted each other all day while hunting.

I missed a doe last Sunday and had to listen to shite all morning

I keep mine with me just because it's always nice to have your phone with you in case of an emergency. But I usually just use it to mess around on TD and talk to the other Baws hunting around me.

I have 2 of those rechargeable batteries that you can charge your phone with. Reading and playing Candy Crush helps pass the time.

Ill admit there has been times when I looked up and caught the arse end of a deer as it crossed a road in front of me. Oh well, having something to keep me from fidgeting and some entertainment keeps me in the stand longer.

I try to stay off of mine as much as possible. Seems like my phone is basically glued to my hand the majority of time I'm not hunting. I try to use my time in the stand to stay away from it. Plus, I'm always worried that I might miss the one shot I have all year to kill a good deer. The people i hunt with are always preaching about watching for deer and not missing your chance. "Gotta see them before they see you" kinda thing.

Didn't realize so many of y'all baws read books, listen to music, etc. when in the stand. Might have to start implementing some of this stuff to help stay in the stand longer.

Now we just need some cooler weather. 85 degree temps and swarms of mosquitoes are a whole different story lol,

I read but only bring a physical book if I'm in a box stand. I have digital copies on my phone/tablet. Less movement.

I use my phone, but only periodically through the day. Texting other hunting buddies, fb, hunting apps. I don't really play games on it anyway. I missed an opportunity on a doe a few years ago because of a damn app ad and I thought I had the sound turned off. I was wrong. My kid killed his first deer Saturday and I had to take the phone out of his hand for him to shoot it. It keeps him more still than all the fidgeting he'd be doing without it.
