Caught a deer in the hog trap !

Young doe. She went nuts as we got close. Thought she was gonna kill herself trying to get out. Held the door open and she finally got out. Scarred up pretty good but she will survive. My buddy " Man 10 years ago I would have shot that deer. Guess I am getting soft in my older years"

Caught one a couple years ago. Never caught a hog in it though. Everyone now calls it the "deer trap" and laughs.

OP should have gotten in the trap with the deer and one blunt weapon like a pecan limb or sock full of rocks and got his friends to video it. He'd have been the hero of the OB

I got a buddy who got in a fight with an axis deer in a stock trailer. The deer won. By a whole lot.

I've seen those axis deer beat the absolute piss out of a 55 gallon drum trying to get corn out of it

very young doe but she would have still kicked my arse. Geauxt our mistake was propping the door open with a stick. The hogs go in when the trap is not set. When we set it they won't go in because they have to push the door open. Will try the diesel though

That sounds unpleasant.
I believe someone got tore up by the previous buck they had in the cage by the St. James Boat Launch. He went in to feed and for some reason that day it went apeshit and gored him. This would have been years back. I can't remember though.
