I know there's another thread on the CHS tournament, but search didn't pull it up. Anyone fishing the Kayak division? I registered this afternoon and will be heading down Friday after lunch.

Awesome!
I'll be fishing the division as well. If you can get down a day earlier, there will be a Kayak Calcutta you can sign up for at the Captains meeting; wait until friday and it will be too late! $25 entry and the winner takes 80% of the pot.

So...I talked to a lady at CHS who is collecting the money...as of right now only 6 kayak entrants. Gotta love those odds!

Yea. . . pretty disappointing though.
I was the one who has been pushing them to add the division for the last couple of years. Finally succeeded this year contingent that I oversee everything.
I expected a strong showing from the new grads and current students, but I guess I overestimated how much interest there would be! I think a lot of people not associated with CHS were turned off by the price of admission, which at face value is steeper than some tournaments, but you do get a lot for the cost...
Deep pockets + offshore divisions = lots of people fishing from boats rather than staying close and fishing inside in plastic boats

When is the tourney?
TBH, the price of entry threw me off. What comes with it?
And I've never fished a tourney. Not sure I would enjoy it.
