In NC. Looks like he's been alone in the woods a long time. Possibly lost while hunting. The GF called the number listed on his collar and said they sounded like trash. Seeing as I was born and raised in BR, seems like fate. It's my duty to do everything I can to keep the Louisiana state dog. Right!?!?

Are you freakin kidding? You find a dog that has a collar with a number. Your GF calls and you think you can keep the dog because your GF thinks they sound like trash? Sorry but not only is that stealing but it makes you and your GF sound like trash.

Here's an idea. GFY. She called the owner and the owner didn't say when he would come get him. According to her, didn't seem to care he was found. Alive. So GFY. You pretentious frick. I like how you spelled tiger with an A. Super cool.

We haven't decided to keep the dog but I'm not going to hound this guy to come get his dog. If he doesn't want him, we will keep him.

lol. I can tell you one thing, I'd NEVER consider taking another man's dog, let alone a hunting dog. Heck of a glimpse into your character seeing you're posting on an "Outdoor Board" and openly asking if it's okay to keep a dog you know isn't yours.

I tried to be nice about it too. That was why I started with "sorry" you sorry sum betch.

Well duh. If you called and he never comes pick him up...that's not the same as doing everything within your power to keep him.

That was a joke. I know it's hard to sense sarcasm through text but I thought adding duty and right!?!? At the end would have made that clear. The dog was in bad shape and his owner didn't seem to care. I wanted advice on how to handle it and experience from Catahoula owners. Not the TD morality police. I would NEVER take another mans dog, but I won't put the dog back into an abusive situation.

Well if that's what you want you've come to the right place.

It's not a TD thing, it's an ethical and outdoorsman thing.

Not that it matters but you sound sincere to me.

Paws firmly planted at 10 and 2, made a left without his blinker. Ticked me off.

If you really want him, change your phone # and move. Otherwise, Billy Bob is liable to change his mind and show up 6 months later wanting the dog back after all.
