C&D weekend kickoff

Got some yard bird quarters doing a season trial with 4 different types.
Some grilled veggies
Basil Hayden and jalapeño cheddar deer sausage for apps.
This is a quality over quantity year interms of hunts so living vicariously through the friends and brothers hunting in the am.

Just me and the kids tonight, so we made chicken sandwiches and Mac & cheese. Buffalo Trace for me.
Caught a pile of trout this morning to fry tomorrow night. I've already been lined up to get a fire going for s'mores as well. Cold front should be nice.

I did. But part of the property sold. Got to expensive per hunter after that, so it had to go.

No, didn't even look for a new place. For the most part, duck hunting in that area sucks. Teal season is always good and they shot birds in that area today, but birds numbers are down, development is taking over, and the juice just isn't worth the squeeze.
