Don't spring those bipods out of the grip if you're trying to be stealthy and sneak up on a deer or something. It's louder than the damn rifle.

Get a Harris bipod. Grip=pods suck.

Looking for a relatively cheap spring bipod for keymod rail. Suggestions?

I have a spring bipod and a folding aluminum one. The spring is nice. Works almost as well as the dedicated bi pod and is less bulky. Plus i like the handle feature. I keep it on my rifle. I don't have this brand, but one simular and I really like it.

Looks like a cheap bipod waiting to break. Plus the footprint of the bipod is so narrow it prolly wouldn't much more stable than just using it as a monopod. You may not want a folding legs bipod, but if you want to go cheap, spend anther $15 or so and get one of the many Harris knock offs available on amazon. I've bought 3 and been happy w/ them. Of course, I only use them 10-20 times a year, but they've held up so far.

what's with all the grip pods lately
I guess it has to do with the influx of people buying ARs right now.
OP, some people learn from making their own mistakes. At $16 it would be a cheap lesson, so go for it if you think you'd like it.

I've got the legit version of that on my M1A. It has actually worked well.
