Can someone explain how to post pics-updated now with pics

Upload your picture to a image hosting site, I like Imgur.com
(for using Google Chrome browser)
once it is uploaded, click on the image to open it up, right click and select "copy image url"
come to the post reply page here on TD, click the img button to the right, take that url (should be blahblach.jpg) and paste it into that popup window

Make imgur account. Upload pic to imgur. Publish pic. Copy direct link. Click img button. Paste full url including https://.
Edit: you dont have to publish. Just right click and copy image address once you upload.

You don't even need an account to host and post to imgur.
Open the app. Press the camera button, bottom center.
Select Photo.
Top Right, Upload.
>
Top Right Up arrow select, then Copy Link.
Come to TD click the img button
TaDa....

That shite doesn't work for me. It changes the color of my pic and won't load it to my avatar.

I would add, in the img text box after "blahblach.jpg" leave a space and manually type in "width=500" so you don't blow up peoples screens with giant images.

TD automatically resized photos now, it has done so for the last couple of years.

Ok, this is basically what I did. I used " flikr" and got Through it all, copied the pic etc. it populated a "URL" but it showed up on here as just a box.
I will download the other app and try it.
And THANK you all for not blasting me. The OT would have considered this request grounds for who knows what

Ok- so I used imgur and did what I was told and all I get is a box. Maybe I have something turned "off" on the phone which would not allow access? Clearly it's not working

Wick- I did exactly what you show here. It went just as you showed it. But I get no picture on TD. Any ideas?

Click on the pic in imgur. Copy the "direct link" just to the right of the picture. (There are 5 or 6 options)
Try again as described above.
ETA: You might be on mobile. I'm talking about using a desk top.

Try pasting the URL in the post. After than, highlight it. Then click img to the right. That should put the img tags around the url. Maybe practice with a pic from the internet like this,
