Added to my collection yesterday. I have been searching for a Government model 1911 to add for a while now. Walked into the gun store yesterday to guy some ammo and there it was staring me in the face, my future Colt. I was really looking for a Series 70 or a Springfield Mil-spec but when I held the Series 80 I realized I prefered the flat main spring housing. Not sure if I prefer the trigger yet, will have to wait to take it to the range. I wanted a Government Model and a Colt to add to my collection so I figure I killed two birds with one stone.

Pics aren't great but here it is:

I never have any issue with them. Some people do though. I figure its because I have smaller hands. I think you can pretty much tell if you are going to have an issue from holding it.

Is it a large hand issue mostly? I know nothing of this, but keep hearing it discussed on gun reviews.

As far as I know yes. I could be wrong but I have small hands and have never had the problem. I know guys with large hands that have had it happen.

I probably will not change anything on the Colt. I feel like it should be left the same. Thought maybe about changing the grips but I really like them. I will change the grips on the Springfield though, not crazy about the wrap arounds.
