Boiling pot regulator recs?

Mine is entry level 20 psi from academy...and Im tired of waiting 30 to boil...what ya got?

I think the burner has more to do with it than the regulator...

I dont agree


I have a 60psi reglulatorand i boil water from cold in about 5 minutes.

Do away with the regulator all together and install a good gas valve. Tanks do have a safety check valve built in now. Just be extra careful firing it off.

You can get the good regulators at Guidry's hardware in Lafayette.

It does. Some burners will blow out. Some will burn hotter but less efficiently. Some burners, like jets, can ramp up the output with higher pressure (but increased pressure only increases theoretical btu output the square root of the increase, so double the pressure gets you ~1.4 times the increase in gas flow at most).

Your best bet is to get a burner with a higher btu output rating. Tripling the pressure on a 100,000 btu burner won't get you the heat that you will get from a 200,000 btu burner.
