Assuming it's still open(haven't fished there in about 15 years) Hi Ridge Marina or Happy Jack. Long no wake zone at Happy Jack so I would go Hi Ridge.

I'm pretty sure High Ridge didn't open back up after Katrina, but I do think the backdown at Happy Jack is still open.
Since Katrina we have only run out of Myrtle Grove. Total travel time to four bayous is about the same. Port Sulfur allows you to be in the air conditioning longer.

Is it a decent launch to launch a 24ft boat?

I thought High Ridge was the marina that was behind the hospital? I think that is a private driveway now. The launch at happy jack is $10 and has a 1 mile no wake zone.

It's been a while since I've been but according to my notes it's almost exactly 1 mile, .98 I think. Or exactly 2 cups of coffee.

the launch is "ok". nothing great.

I used to fish P.S. all the time, mostly along Bastian Bay and along that coastal area. the fishing has really dropped off.

there used to be a camp in the middle of 4 Bayou pass that kicked arse in the evenings. it was like clock work. I don't know if it's still there or not. I may look on my old maps when I get home, out of curiosity.
