Anyone have any good recommendations on a fishing light that I can toss over the side of the boat for specs?

My main question is whether I should buy or build.

I'm thinking it would be easier and cheaper to build something like this:

Anyone have a different set up?

Interested in build cost as well. I've fished the ones you buy and the output is impressive.

Wickowick has a nice one. It's actually his profile picture.

I didn't build the one in the OP yet. I priced it out and was about $40 after buying the glues and everything.

I've thought about buying the ones you can get at Academy but was worried about the output, plus the price is almost double what I could build one for.

Here's the LINK for the instructable website to build that light. I've found stronger LED's than what is used on here on Amazon for about $13.
