Looking at buying a puppy. She has white on chest and around lip. Is this normal? Supposedly the mom is yellow and dad is black

No, it's not. A single white spot in the center of the chest is permissible, at least on chocolate labs, but any other markings are not.

I'm not saying it won't be a fine hound. I'm definitely saying that, regardless as to whether or not it has a bLoCk HeAd & OtTeR tAiL & cHaMpIoN bLoOdLiNe, I wouldn't pay a premium for it (that's a knock on the puppy mills with 1 jr hunter title 3 generations back, and NOT on the pup in question).

If it's a registered litter, it shouldn't be, and it should be reported to the kennel club that it's registered to. White coloring anywhere other than the above mentioned chest is a disqualifier and does not meet breed standards.

Man get off that horse you’re riding! OP post the pedigree and price if possible.
Now, if you think akc or ukc give a rats azz about this I have a bridge in London you can buy. I reported a litter to akc with provable multiple sires that were never disclosed to the buyers and they wanted to crucify ME. All the registries are concerned about is $$$$.

Yo puppies gonna have white toes...

I’ve looked into this before. There was a foundation breed, I forget the name, used to create labs that was obviously lab like, but they could have white chest, a toe or two and on the lip. Those traits when they rear their head in labs should be culled/not registered in my opinion.

Well gotdamn son, I didn't even know my horse was saddled, let alone that I was riding it. Care to explain how I'm on a high horse, even though I said "...I'm not saying the pup is not gonna be any good...?"

Or did you just have a bad experience with AKC crucifying you for some pups that you may or may not have been wrong about, and now you want to do the same to me while attempting to be right about something? Because that's what I know it is, and anything otherwise is unfettered bullchit.

I'm going with the former on you being wrong because going by your post, you're a jackass with OT lounge reading comprehension skills. So frick you, frick backyard breeders and frick the AKC too, while I'm at it. I've honestly never had to report it because the litters that I pay attention to are not ones with questionable breeding, but instead ones with a questionable likelihood that I'll be able to buy one based on the waiting list. But now I know that if I do report a litter, if I am wrong, then I'll be chastised like your jumping-the-gun-arse was. Thanks for that. No really, thanks.

The fact of the matter is this:

IF THE OP'ER IS PAYING MUCH OF ANYTHING FOR A "LAB" PUPPY WITH WHITE DISCOLORATION ON IT, THEN HE'S PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE NOT LAB PUPPY.

Refute that and I'll kiss your triggered arse.

Jim that's awesome. There's no doubt that he was a good boy. There is doubt that you read my first reply though? Please read it...PLEASE...?

Key word is *permissible*: allowed, acceptable.

White coloration anywhere other than a single white spot on the chest of chocolates is not a lab that one should pay full lab prices for, if paying full prices for a lab is what they wish to do. It may be lab'ish, but it's not a lab; *do not pay lab $ for a lab with spots*, or not as much as you would for those racist solid color labs. I've owned and trained pups with said white spot on the chest, but zero dalmatians, admittedly. I'm training (or helping to train) a chocolate right now with a white spot on his chest, and he will probably go down as one of the most awesome pups I'll ever have the pleasure of saying "good boy" to. Hell I tried to buy him.

*permissible*

Can a lab'ish pup be a good pup? You bet your sweet-as-cherry-pie arse it can be. I've seen um. But it's not a lab. It's not. Don't pay like it is- IF that's what you're wanting to pay for.

*permissible*

#cutmesome #slack #jack

P.S. if you were just commenting and not busting my balls and I've jumped the gun, then hey, my p*ssy hurts sometimes just like yours. Don't judge me plz. Thx. Much luv.

I was just commenting. I didnt read your long arse post.

The regs are pretty specific on what is permissible.

Just stating, a good dog is a good dog. Spot or not

So you didn't read it, and yet you have a reply that is in agreement with what I said, and yet you think it is a retort, and now you reply with something else in agreement, then say a couple paragraphs is too long?

You know what your illiterat arse is?

Redundant.

I did read your first post and that’s what I was referring to. You seem rather fired up, but I think you are missing the point. Some of the best breed labs in history have more than what’s “permissible”.
