I'm a new owner of a Remington 700 30-06 ADL. It's the Walmart special that came with a scope. I found out real quick that it had to be replaced.

Well, I bought a bipod (Champion) from Walmart and the only thing I didn't like about it was that it would swivel from recoil. Well, now I've returned it and went back to the range without any kind of rest and I'm shooting all over the place cause I can't keep still.

By the way, I've also sanded the pakerized finish and cerakoted the barrel to a shiny black, stippled the stock within the area of the pistol grip and fore end grip, painted the stock a dark hunters green, put a Leupold base and rings with a Bushnell Trophy XLT scope, and I plan on bedding the stock solid to make it more balanced and help with the recoil. It already looks 100% better. Best firearm purchase I've made yet.

Harris. HBRM if you like quick adjustment on the legs. Standard HBR if you like more fine adjustment.

Atlas if you want the best, Harris if you want the best for the money.

bedding the stock

Good move, and not hard to do if you follow the directions. A dremel tool helps remove material easily. I'm guessing you bought a synthetic stock? I've bedded several wood stocks and only one synthetic. All were successful, but remember, the glass doesn't bond as well to synthetic stocks (if at all) as it does to wood. There is a good trick you can do to secure the bedding material even if it doesn't bond at all. Cut away several cavities into the side of the stock where the glass can overflow into. Once dry it will be mechanically locked into place.
