I usually buy starter plants like Celebrity, Better Boy, Cherokee Purple, etc. This year I want to order some seeds of different varieties of tomatoes. I was told Paul Robeson and Black Krim. Any other suggestions?

My grandfather has used Better Boy for a long time and been really happy with them.

LSU AG Center Guide

My personal favorites are
1. Amelia
2. BHN 640
3. Better Boy

Had a few Cherokee purple last year, but although tasty, they didn't produce like these. This year I'll go with the top two only.

Can anyone recommend a variety that is both heat tolerant and does not run everywhere. We have used celebrity, better boy, best boy and beefmaster in the past and the first three all grow so rampantly they take over the garden quickly.
