best time to get a water oak chopped down and trim a few other trees

in BR and would like to get one oak completely removed then get a few other trees (2 oaks and sycamore) cleaned up

Not after a hurricane. Other than that and you should be good.

If you are talking about the cheapest time, the winter is the cheapest if a normal landscape guy can do it because they don't have nearly as much landscaping like cutting grass, etc. in the winter. Some guys can get desperate for work.

You can cut a tree down anytime. Trimming/pruning a tree, in the other hand, is best done in the winter after all of the leaves have fallen off and the tree is dormant. Any other time of year, and you could stress the tree, and even kill it. Obviously it would take a lot more to kill and older tree--trimming a few limbs won't do it.
