Looking at getting a Leupold or Bushnell.
How are things going for you guys in Louisiana?

You are the most indecisive person
The Bushnell tactical scopes (XRS) are decent. Leupold is decent (some of the turrets dont match the reticle though). For stuff a bit more, Nightforce NXS and Vortex Razor HD is really good. The best tactical scopes imo are the Schmidt and Bender PM series, the Tangent Theta series ( newer and better premier reticles), IOR Valdada, Nightforce BEAST and Kahles K series.

Get a Tasco. They're the best scopes on the market these days.

Get a Tasco or NCstar. They are just as good as those expensive brands. I mean your not in the special forces right.

I think I might even buy a Hi Pernt before putting one of those hunks of shite on my rifle (I know your comment was a joke though). CP3 had an NC star red dot on his gun just fall apart after about 10 rounds through an AR. If it can't handle the recoil of a 223, anything larger may cause it to explode.

For the OP, who I agree is quite indecisive, I would suggest a mid to low power scope by Redfield or Leupold. They're actually both made by Leupold but the Redfield will come at a slightly lower price point with decent glass. They're quite affordable and will serve you fine. I have a 4-12x by 40mm Redfield on my 20" AR and it's been a great optic for me.
