I know most people hang their bow up when rifle season opens, but this year I am planning on only bowhunting. What are the best boots to stay warm up in the ladder? TIA

Any insulated boot will work, just make sure to try to control the scent as much as possible. Another thing is make sure you have room for your feet to move. Putting too many socks makes my feet colder than one good pair. You need a layer of air to warm up between your feet and the boot

Any decent insulated rubber boots as long as you have the right sock situation. If I have a long walk, I'll actually change into fresh merino wool socks when I get to my tree. I have not had a cold toe issue since going to good liners and merino wool socks.

I bowhunt all season and my feet are always the first thing to get cold. Best I have found are the hot hands made for feet. I'm thinking about getting some of the thermacell heated insoles though.

What does bowhunting have to do with boot selection?

Scent control is more important.

You implying one rubber controls scent better than the other?

Man, these hunting show commercials are getting y'all hook, line and sinker.

You should always be cognizant of scent control, but when it comes to rubber boots there is no particular rubber better than the other. Playing wind direction is No. 1.
"Professional hunters" will say anything to sell sponsor products.

I sit in a lock-on to bowhunt, not some box with a heater. I'm convinced there's not many colder places than a lock-on in January.

I agree it's more sock selection. I wear Muck rubber books with Cheap white socks with the toe warmer or whole foot warmers. I put Columbia ski socks that come up high over them to layer it up. That's the best for real cold mornings. I too bowhunt 85% of the time.

I really think putting cotton under wool is counterproductive.

I sit in a lock on to rifle hunt. I can 100% verify that my feet don't stay any warmer just because I left my bow at home.

Invest in some good wool socks and you'll be surprised at how little you need those toe warmers. You'll give them back to the children, where they belong.

never needed anything more than Muck Boots. Do not get the Woody Max as that is too hot for NLa.

I wear neoprene booties and Lacrosse Lagrange boots. The booties have always served me well.
