Be Careful Out There Today!

Just back to the camp after I ran my boat up on a piling clipping along at about 30mph.
Ran this bay HUNDREDS of times in my life- was trying to get an early start this am before the weather came up.
Luckily, I saw something in the water just before I hit it and swerved right in time- it still lifted the boat up a foot or so as I went over it.
Never be too careful fellas- I let my desire to go and try to catch some get the best of me this morning. Once I stopped, I realized I was running about a hundred yards off my normal course.
I always laugh when we post the pics of the boats run aground - I was stone cold sober, had my life jacket on, and was doing (I thought) a good job of paying attention. It happens that fast.
Will post pics of the carnage if it's remarkable- gonna go put it on the trailer now to see.

That sucks. Be sure you look under the deck to see if you didn't break any ribs.
Twice I hit shite running. Both times it was floater logs just under the surface. Happens all the time running the Mississippi river.

Thank God all I have is a scuff from the bow to the transom - rode it like a roller coaster rail I guess.
Nothing a little wax won't fix- I think I'll stay inside now and see if I can't find some redfish.
