Ive been wanting to get one of these for my dad... Does anyone have experience with these or certain brands to stay away from?

I saw some that have good reviews and are pretty compact and light that would be good to keep in your boat but not sure how good they actually work.

Any advice?

You mean like the 12V automotive jump packs? Never took out a boat or jetski without one available. Good ones are under $100. I have a Sear's 750A. Stay away from the gimmicky ones with extra lights/compressors/USB ports.

I have a diehard brand from sears and it has done well. I agree, dont get one with a built in compressor... it will hardly blow up a basketball. A 12very outlet or usb is great for charging a phone though

Are you asking about the new small light weight lithium ion jump packs? I would like to know how good these things work as well. This one weighs 2.5 pounds.

Yea that's what I was talking about.

I was looking at some that have the battery connectors, a USB port, and a little flash light that was around $80 that only weighs a couple pounds... but wasn't sure if it was a POS or not.
