What a damn fish.

This. The only thing that would make those pics better would be a foot, maybe an OB koozie.

Someone in Ville Platte is trying to figure out where you live so they can raid your freezer tonight.

Good eating, but it does not weigh 70 pounds.

ETA; honestly, it looks to weigh about 35 pounds

That's an incredible fish! A few weeks ago, I foul hooked a catfish near its tail with a 5XD crankbait. I was in a kayak using 12 lb test Big Game and a Medium action rod. After about 20 minutes, he came to the surface, saw me, and headed back for the bottom. He was huge but smaller than your giant. After about 15 more minutes, the hooks pulled out and he was gone. Congrats on landing your monster.

That's a hell of a cat. We caught this one the other day on a yoyo. Can't believe it didn't don't shred said yoyo. Didn't weight him but guessed it was around 40lbs

Can't believe it didn't pull whatever said yo-yo was attached to into the water.

The big light colored one made me think we had an alligator on the line,

The meat above the ribs came out like pearlescent hockey pucks. Talk about a good courtbouillon.

I think I got to it not long after it bit. And instead of pulling he apparently started rolling because it was all wrapped up in yoyo string. I think that was his undoing.

Catfish don't really know the yo-yo protocol but glad it worked out for you.

They are hating you for saying this, but you aren't wrong.

This fish was 32lbs. No way the OP is 70. Maybe 50. 70 is damn near the biggest on record in LA.

It's hard to judge by pictures but I'd tend to agree. 70lbs is one big arse fish.
