I was a bit suspicious about this particular crash
LINK

There have been two commercial airliners forced to land by eagles. One, in Juneau was caused when an eagle dropped a
salmon on an airborne 737

I dont even understand how that happens, but i guess these are single prop planes? Even so, wouldnt the bird have to hit perfectly in prop to cause that much damage?

interesting. i just would've thought a plane windshield would be strong enough to withstand that sort of impact.

Some of those smaller planes arent built to withstand a lot. Ive flown on planes with fabric wings.

An eagle crashed through a C-130 windshield and broke the piolt's nose when I was stationed at Little Rock AFB. Those things can do some damage.

Nope. Most windshields on single engine general aviation planes are plexiglass.

Business jets and commercial airliners have very thick glass that can withstand most bird strikes, but not most general aviation aircraft.

I've seen a Cessna 172 that had an egret go through the windshield right between the pilot and passenger and explode inside the plane. Blood, guts and feathers everywhere. It that hits the pilot in the face, they're either knocked unconscious or very impaired.

Peta will be trying to ban all planes in Alaska soon.
