Asphalt cost?

Got quoted ~$2.50/sq ft for hot mix for a driveway. Is that reasonable? Recycled asphalt quote ~$1.60 but I understand it won't last nearly as long as hot mix.

All depends on what thickness it is.

How thick? Seems like a good price.

You can typically get concrete for 3-3.25/ft, may want to get a price as for a little more u can have something with zero maintenance.

Hot mix would be about 2" thick.
I would prefer concrete but driveway is about 10,000 sq ft. Already not thrilled about having to pay a ridiculous amount for a driveway, so would prefer to save the extra money. How much maintenance is asphalt?
Gravel or SB-2 isn't an option due to terrain...too much rutting/erosion. We've learned this the hard way.

Asphalt cracks and breaks alot more than concrete as it isn't designed to maintain structural loads. Asphalt has about half the lifespan of concrete.
If your driveway is that long I would consider having concrete where you are going to be parking and either asphalt from the road or look into pugmill.
