Worth a damn or are they not any better than a normal chamber mop?

I just use a nylon bore brush. Then clean it with q-tips.

USGI chamber brush (copper for chamber, stainless for locking lug recesses); then .30 patches to clean up.

That and a shot of Fast Blast. Then dry the chamber with a few large patches. Do not leave oil/solvent residue in the chamber of these rifles (or any firearm). Doing so will effectively double the force the bolt sees in operation.

I use it too but try to leave as little of it in the chamber and bore as possible.

Naturally; & those pads might come in handy, too.
