Narrowed down to

Vortex Sparc
Vortex Strikefire
Bushnell TRS-25

Is the xtra $ for the vortex worth it?

I'm not an everyday shooter so not spending big $ on Eotech or aimpoint. I just shoot at range or at my camp occasionally.

I have the Sparc II. I bought it a few months back from Ebay, new in box. Guy selling had a bunch of them for sale.

Spitfire is another good option. It's a prism scope and still has the normal black reticle if your battery dies.

I've heard nothing but great things from Vortex but I have the Busnell TRS-25 on a plinker for about 2 years and it works great. It has a clear sight picture and fully adjustable 3MOA red dot that is crisp.

Troy battlesight.

Also, I've been told Holosun solar red dots are nice.

OpticsPlanet was selling "demo" Vortex Strikefire II's for $149 (mount and shipping included) back in June (you had to ask for the special price in the text chat with customer service). It looks brand new to me and I highly recommend. It's a 4 MOA, but I'm not a navy seal so that doesn't matter

If you're not ponying up for an Aimpoint (which you should), just look at a Primary Arms micro dot advanced. They run like $160.

If you stick with those three, I would go with the vortex and not the Bushnell... I would suggest you also look into the Holosun optics... I have a couple of them on some of my ARs and they haven't let me down yet, and I got the cheaper model. Ran me about 169 each.

Just a PSA: After seeing your post I added the Strikefire 2 to my cart on Optics planet but did not checkout. I had an email from them last night taking an extra $14 off. Purchased for $130 and change with free shipping
