AR Question - Colt 6920 vs 6720

Hey guys,
First time poster on the OB.
I'm looking at getting my first AR. I had zeroed in on the Colt 6920, went to the store to check it out and noticed a 6720 for about $200 cheaper. ($800 vs $1k)
From what I can tell the 6720 has the same features as the 6920, just a lighter barrel which is where the cost difference is.
Anyone have any other insight into this? And is there a practical reason why I shouldn't go with the 6720? Seems like I'd be better served to save the $200 and customize it quicker...

The barrel is the big difference. Unless your going to drop a RDIAS in it the pencil barrel is fine.
