Whatever you do don't use timic. There will be dead buzzards, opossum, and anything else that gets to the carcass. I do alot of trapping and after years of learning some tricks they are pretty easy but it took a while. I caught two in my watermelon patch this week but it took a few nights. If trapping is the way you decide to go I wil give you tips.

This is cruel as hell but you can hang big treble hooks about 5 or 6 feet off the ground and bait with chicken or beef scraps. You can shoot them in the morning to put'em out of there misery.

I read that one time on here. I don't think I would do it, but my buddy is all about it.

we have a shite ton of coyotes around here and no one is out killing any of them. I live next to and around some pretty salty old school ranchers, and no issues with the coyotes, know why? they all have great fencing and repair it constantly. Chicken pens etc are all top notch. just an fyi. No matter how many you kill they will be back next season and most likely will get into that rickety chicken coop again.

This, but rednecks gonna strew poison around and kill every critter in a ten mile radius except the coyotes, who are too smart to fall for the trap.

It's this new compound called LR-22. Go ask your nearest gun store about it

Because there's enough food "out there" for them. If the food supply runs out for them, get ready.

I'm calling bullshite. Unless they have like 6 strands WITH a hot one on the bottom OR 5 or so hot wires, coyotes can get in. Most cattlemen don't spend that much time/money for their fences.

I did for a smaller goat pasture and it worked but as someone mentioned, a donkey is the best protection. They won't even let a dog in the field.

True. If their population is where the food supply can sustain they have low numbers but if some die off, mother nature somehow kicks in and litters increase. Pretty remarkable.

I have never heard of him doing that. But if you live close by and own the land I am sure he would put them on the coyotes. I wish I had some pics from some of these trials. I am talking about 30 trucks backed up to the edge of a woodline and all of them let out about 20-30 dogs per truck.

i know someone that had a problem with coyotes killing calves, they busted a bunch of glass bottles into medium size shards and mixed it with hamburger meat. they made a bunch of patties and tossed them out around the property one night. next morning the patties were gone and 2 days later the coyotes were gone too. very cruel way to deal with it, i would prefer to shoot em.

Be careful with poison, case in the midwest, farmer has a problem with coyotes left some poison out, it worked, killed the yotes, then bald eagles ate the dead yotes and they died, he got hit with 2 felonys, and was unable to own firearms, until Bush pardoned him

I'll find the article about a guy sitting in jail now for using poison bait on coyotes. The dead coyotes were eaten by bald eagles which subsequently died as well.

Even a fish wouldn't get caught if it'd keep its mouth shut.
