Ford has experience boosting little motors going back to the 1980's when it had a Group B rally program with Cosworth in the UK. Little motor, tons of boost, 8000 rpm in the RS200 Evo's. Now that they have direct injection with gasoline they can really push the boost and CR since fuel isn't hanging around in the chamber to pre-ignite.
