Anyone own an Avet SX reel?

I need another offshore reel and have been looking at getting an Avet just want to know how they perform.

4 of them... Good reels for jigging tuna and snapper fishing. Back when I bought them they were the fastest reel with the most drag capability on the market. Not sure if that's true anymore with the advent of speed jigging and the new market it created. Bottom line is I've had them 6 or so years and haven't need to buy anything to replace them.

Yea shimano has some reels with like 18lb drag or something ridiculous like that now (for the price) but from what I am reading the Shimanos aren't as reliable.

Yea I have looked at all the Avets, but I am shopping on a budget. Tryin to keep this reel under $200.

I have a couple of their 30W's as well and they aren't near as smooth as my Tiagras but again, they have so much drag, more than I can realistically hold without being harnessed, so I decided to convert them to my Amberjack and Grouper reels. Matched with 200# hollow core and a 250# mono topshot, I don't break anything off anymore unless something weird happens. I remember testing them once and I was able to get I think almost 40#'s of drag and still have freespool...

If you're on a budget of $200 or less, I'd consider big spinning tackle. Spinning tackle for deep jigging and such has come a long way recently with big drags and decent line capacity, and you'll have a lot more options (Shimano, quantum, penn). A shimano spheros 14000 will handle quite a bit with 20+ lbs of drag and 300+ yards of 80 lb braid. We regularly use them for snapper, AJ, cobia, grouper, etc.
ETA that some of our big shimano spinning gear is going on 6+ years with only a few respools and a cleaning after each season. Very reliable.

I have a couple of big spinners already and have a good offshore rod that needs a reel.

Well, found an Avet JX two speed and got a decent deal on it so I am going to get it.
