Seems a hunter lost their yellow lab 11 days ago... She was found today 6 miles away from where she was lost.

Makes me sad because of the OB's own lost dog story... Sorry we couldn't find ya Grizzly!

I was out there the day she was lost. When the guy below posted the thread about Venice I thought about this dog and how I haven't heard anything.

Wow. Great news.

Hopefully that open kennel isn't for the dog.

I'm guessing it is, since it's illegal in Louisiana to have an unkenneled dog in a moving truck bed.

I meant the dog needs to ride shotgun after that ordeal.

That is amazing that that dog traveled that far through the marsh. Glad it is returning home.

Wait it's illegal to have a dog sans kennel in the back of a truck? Uh oh! What if I have him tied in the back of my truck?

I'm not 100% versed on the law, but I think they have to be inside something and not just tied down... I could be wrong though.

Edit:

Just did some digging and it seems it's only illegal on interstates and primary state highways. And yes, the dog must be in a covered and secured container. Also, some parishes have passed their own legislation that piggybacks the state law and makes it illegal on any roads in their Parish, Jefferson Parish being one of them.

My neighbor's dog has two tickets for this. Goes to court next week.
