stay to the east side of south pass if that's the route you take.

Gets shallow on the west side

Nope, the west side is a beach. I don't even like running the west side in my skiff and I can get pretty shallow. I try to only fish that area as a passenger.

If elf is slow, head west.

Fish have been in that area.

Only 17 miles or so west south west to Lena

I'd bounce elf-Lena which leaves you cognac on way back in. 20nm from mouth of pass to elf. 17nm elf-Lena. 9nm Lena-cognac. 13nm cognac back to pass.

Damn I wish I could fish this weekend

I haven't entered it yet. How many do you think will try West Cove?

Last year I think there was about 10-15 people that fished out of West Cove, probably be about the same again.

For clarification... South pass...

Run east side of center, 100% sure final answer.

The bad sand bars are on the west side by Franks crossing and an unnamed cut about 3 miles south of there with a green can marking it on the west side of the pass.

You don't have to take that route. Just probably what I would do if I was going that area.

Bite has been fairly hot in the area as of late.
