Thinking of the 255 xs pro w/ the 400. Any experience with the brand and maybe this model?
Thanks
Thanks

I’ve looked at them at shows a few times. The fit and finish is lacking and the hull/deck designs don’t make a lot of sense. It’s a really narrow beam for its size. When I checked out the guts the wiring was jumbled up, the deck/hull mesh at the rub rail usually has a pretty thick layer of caulk which means they don’t align very well, and the exposed fiberglass in compartments is barely painted. It’s comparable in weight to most in the class but I bet it porpoises like a bitch. I’d consider this a tier 3 boat.
The Glasstream would most likely be a good cruising boat for the weekend warrior. It looks sharp and is probably efficient. I would prefer other options for “near shore” blue water or fishing.
Other options:
Tier 2 - Tidewater 2500 Carolina Bay
Tier 1 - Pathfinder 2400 Open or TRS.
Both boats are incredibly efficient, foam filled, and are true hybrid bay boats. They are relatively comparable in price and are made by reputable brands as real deal boats.

I wouldn’t put Tidewater in a high quality tier. Just my opinion from looking at a few of them.

I agree. They are, at best, a tier 2.

There are actually quite a few brands that are making 24-25 ft boats that fit in the large bay to hybrid category. Do yourself a favor and go to a couple boat shows.
Blackjack 256 coastal
Sportsman 247 OE
Robalo Cayman
Seaborn Lx 25
Check those out. Just to name a few.

Yeah I wasn’t gonna go into the ultra expensive custom brands as most cannot afford them.
East Cape also makes a badass open and hybrid bay.

I can tell you haven’t priced these things in a while. Just about every half arse decent every brand 24 bay out there is way over 100k. The brands I quoted were up to and over 130k. ZCB gonna be over 200k.

Nah I keep up with them pretty good, bare ZCB is $140,000.

Got it. And appreciate the replies. We boat in TN and KY mostly on the big lakes. So I’m looking at something to cruise and play during the summer, and striper fish and such during offseason. Plus I want something that will move. Not so much worried about the bay boat as my wife loves to ride in the bow. Again, thanks all. good info
