I have bought several online. I use Mail Order Natives. I believe they are only 1 gallon plants but I have had good luck with them. I have bought several trees and some pipevine from them as well.

well where do you recomend in BR, looks like HD is on par with that price. 20 for a 1 gallon 40 for a 3.

i only need like 5 or 6 of them so i dont need to drive to forest hill

Take a ride up to Forest Hill. Those sell around $10 for 3 gallon plants.

I've been out of the landscape business for a few years now but encore azaleas are more expensive than regular azaleas because they bloom a few more times a year. I think you can get them at local nurseries for around that price in the BR area.

Edit; nvm just saw your location

Not from BR.... I buy mine for $12.24 a piece. You got any friends in the Mobile area? If so, look up Flowerwood Nursery.

Is Cleggs still around?

My take on Encore Azaleas. They're repeat bloomers but they spend so much energy on blooming that they can become scraggly looking unless you have full sun moist well drained beds properly fertilized. Again, my opinion, theyre some well established double bloomers(spring/fall) that perform better and easier to maintain.

I was at Cleggs this week. I was shocked at how many plants they have. I would assume they would have plenty of Azaleas. Wasn't in the market for them but I'd definitely check them out.

Before you buy Encores, where are you putting them? Get any shade? Irrigation? Soil type?

Good Luck! May want to think about putting down pine straw instead of mulch. If not, add some type of acidity to your soil.
