I practice to keep my muscle memory in check. I started getting awful groupings because I got lazy over the summer and didn't shoot. I was missing my anchor point or punching when I fired. It takes practice to be accurate.

Looks fairly simple on you tube. Do you not recommend I try this?

This

In my opinion it is absolutely ridiculous for someone to go out on opening morning of bow season, or any time mind you, without having spent time practicing.

You owe it to the sport and to that game you are attempting to take. Anything not in line with that thinking is a disservice to all parties involved.

If you are too lazy to practice you may as well sell your bow and buy a crossbow.
At least then you can be associated with the same group of lazy-type hunters. (medically challenged or age challenged folks notwithstanding)

Its not about weather your pins are set and your bow is tuned.

Practicing is for when a deer steps in front that you intend to shoot the movements are natural and effortless. Target acquisition, Drawing and shooting is second nature and the bow is an extention of you.

The same applies to a rifle. Do you and the animal a favor. Even if its the day before.

I don't think you know me brah. I'm far from lazy. I simply do not have the time to practice, so I'm going to climb a tree and hope for the best. If I wound a deer, so be it. It's a deer and I'm human.

I've got a damn nice seven point coming in almost every evening from 4 till dark. I haven't had time to shoot my bow so I'll just sling an arrow and hope for the best.

I never practice. Once you've got it youve got it. Plain and simple.
