We are going on one for a buddies bachelor party in mid February. Going to southern Praire outfitters. Most of our group up duck hunting, but I've never given a damn about a goose. Figure it would be fun for this type of trip though. Anyone have any experience with it?

I have only been on a couple of conservation goose hunts. Both were in South Louisiana and honestly, neither one was anything special. I found the hunting to be pretty hard, as you have at ton of work to do in putting out rags, etc. and the damn recording playing constantly is just maddening.

We killed a number of geese, but nothing like I expected.

Went in Newport Arkansas area once, it was a blast. Killed a lot of geese. I will second that the looped recording will make you mad.

Went on bachelor party about 5 years ago in Mid February near Paragould, Ark. We killed over a hundred in 3 days with four guys. I will third the E-caller will drive you crazy, but it is a great experience!

Been once, and also going again in February for a BP.

It’s pretty cool, a lot of set up work, but if you like big arse groups of geese in your face then you will have fun.

The guide service I went with last time pretty much did zero work though. We set out all the sillo socks, worked our dogs, and picked up all the socks. I was pretty infuriated with the lack of work they did.

If you have the equipment or pay someone to take you that does, its fun to do a time or two. It is a hell of a lot of work. All that said, frick a goose, especially the white one's! The only one's we shoot anymore are Spec's.
