Why am I just hearing about this Sounds fun as hell and a great way to spend some good times outdoors with the kiddos finding "treasure". Anyone done this before? My little boy (and me) can channel our inner Indiana Jones.

It can be a lot of fun. There's quite a few caches around here, some of them on some pretty cool trails. Our company even does geocaching tours

Been doing it for years. It's a good excuse to get out and hike some trails. Most parks have a few.

The state park in Gulf Shores has several along the trail system. You can spend a day or more looking for them all.

I use the Geocaching app on my iPhone now more than an actual GPS. It's fairly accurate if you are in an area with decent cell signal.

There's literally hundreds within 10 miles of my home. I suppose we'll start local and expand outwards. Can't wait to start doing this with my son.

yes, it is pretty fun as long as you catch it when the weather is nice...

some are damn challenging to find, while others are pretty obvious....

it is a good activity that gives you practice in a good number of outdoor skills...

I've had some good times geocaching with my son. We use the iPhone app and never had a problem.
